Today, November 20th, the world observes World Children's Day—the anniversary of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. This day serves as a critical reminder of our collective duty to ensure every child's right to life, protection, development, and education.

This year, the date holds special significance for Ukraine, as the Presidential Decree has shifted the official Children's Protection Day from June 1st to November 20th. This symbolic step emphasizes Ukraine's solidarity with the global community in prioritizing children's rights, especially amid the challenges of the current war.

SKOLA+ and SPORT+: How We Protect Childhood

For Science4People e.V. and our initiatives SKOLA+ (Education) and SPORT+ (Sports and Health), upholding children's rights is not just a holiday slogan—it is a daily mission. In a time when war threatens to steal their childhood, we strive to restore hope, knowledge, and a sense of normalcy to the children of Ukraine.

The Right to Education and Development: The SKOLA+ Project

The SKOLA+ project ensures continuous education for children in frontline communities and regions where schools have been destroyed. We uphold the child's fundamental right to:

Quality Learning: Through online lessons and tutoring in core subjects, we help children catch up on lost material and prepare for further studies.

Intellectual Growth: We provide essential tools (laptops, tablets etc.) to help children grow and develop despite obstacles. Education is their future, and we are protecting it.

The Right to Health and Joy: The SPORT+ Project

The SPORT+ project is our response to the child's right to health, play, and recovery. Physical activity is about more than just muscles; it's about psychological resilience and socialization:

Psychological Support: Sport helps children release stress, process trauma, and divert their attention from the horrors of war.

On this World Children's Day, we thank everyone who supports our mission. We urge you to join Science4People e.V. in continuing to ensure Ukrainian children have the opportunity to learn, play, dream, and ultimately, build the future of their country.

Support SKOLA+ and SPORT+ — invest in protecting childhood!
