Despite ongoing challenges, 2025 was a year of continuity, growth, and meaningful impact for children, young people, and students in Ukraine. As the new year begins, we at Science4People e.V. look back on the past twelve months to reflect on what was achieved together with our partners.
Throughout the year, SKOLA+ and SPORT+ remained our core flagship programs. The activities within both programs were implemented locally by our partner organization Tabula Rasa for the Future Generation, with Science4People supporting the initiatives through coordination, resources, and long-term partnership.
Within SKOLA+, a wide range of educational sessions took place, combining regular learning support with special formats such as creative and sustainability-focused classes, including an upcycling workshop that encouraged practical skills and environmental awareness.
SPORT+ gained strong momentum throughout the 2024/25 school year, marked by high participation and engagement in football, volleyball, and handball. Participants also received appropriate sports equipment as part of the program. A visible highlight was our joint involvement in the opening of a new beach volleyball court, strengthening community life and resilience through sport. This positive dynamic continued with a very successful start to the 2025/26 school year.
At the organizational level, we experienced continued growth, welcoming three new members to Science4People during the year. This development strengthens our capacity and enables us to support our projects and future plans more effectively. Our direct engagement with partners in Ukraine remained an important part of our work. In 2025, our founder, Prof. Ferenc Krausz, traveled to Ukraine several times to personally deliver experiment boxes and support local academic initiatives.
In March, he visited Kyiv and Kharkiv on a solidarity trip, carrying the Nobel Appeal, signed by 131 Nobel Laureates worldwide. This visit laid the groundwork for the Peace4Europe initiative, calling for the use of Russian assets frozen in the EU to support Ukraine’s reconstruction. During the March visit, Prof. Krausz gave lectures in Kyiv and Kharkiv, with some held in shelters due to security conditions, showing solidarity with the academic community under extremely challenging circumstances. Later, in November, he delivered a second lecture online as part of the „Kharkiv Chemical Seminar“, ensuring continuity of education and scientific exchange despite ongoing shelling.
Towards the end of the year, we joined the humanitarian initiative “No Child is a Stranger”, implemented locally together with Tabula Rasa and local authorities. The project focused on inclusion, care, and emotional support for children in particularly difficult circumstances during the holiday season.
Together, these developments reflect a year shaped by partnership, commitment, and a balanced approach – supporting local implementation, strengthening education and sport, and contributing to international advocacy for Ukraine’s recovery.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all our donors, supporters, and members, and especially to our partner organization Tabula Rasa for the Future Generation, which carries out our projects locally in Ukraine. Their dedication and collaboration are essential to supporting children, youth, and students in Ukraine, and to advancing a future built on education, resilience, and hope.
