At Science4People, we believe that empowerment isn't just found in textbooks—it’s found on the pitch. This spring, the village of Zapson became the vibrant backdrop for a true celebration of community, resilience, and athletic spirit.

Under the umbrella of the SPORT+ project, we successfully hosted the "Spring Cup" tournament, bringing together six highly motivated youth teams (players born 2014–2015) for a day of high-stakes competition and heartfelt camaraderie.

Final Tournament Standings

The level of talent on display was exceptional, with every team demonstrating remarkable growth and tactical discipline: Berehove Youth Sports School took 1st place, followed by FC "Beregvidék" 2015 in 2nd place and FC "Batyovo" in 3rd. FC "Beregvidék" 2014, FC Serne, and FC Zapsony completed the rankings.

The "Triple Nexus" in Action

This tournament is more than just a local sports event; it is a practical application of the Triple Nexus approach—linking humanitarian aid, development, and peacebuilding through the universal language of sport.

  • Humanitarian Resilience: Providing a safe, joyful space for children to engage in physical activity, which is essential for mental health and psychosocial support in challenging times.
  • Long-term Development: By investing in youth sports infrastructure and coaching, we are fostering life skills such as discipline, teamwork, and leadership that these children will carry into their future careers and civic lives.
  • Social Cohesion (Peace): Bringing together different villages and clubs builds bridges between communities, fostering a sense of shared identity and mutual respect among the next generation.

A Community Effort

A huge "thank you" goes out to the coaches for their expert organization and to the fans whose unwavering support echoed across the field until the final whistle.

The SPORT+ project is proudly implemented by the NGO “Tabula Rasa for the Future Generation” with the dedicated financial support of Science4People e.V. Together, we are proving that sport is one of the most powerful tools we have for sustainable development and social change.
